“The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, ‘Follow me.’” (John 1:43, NIV)
Sometimes that is the way it is; you are minding your own business and as far as you are concerned everything is fine. Suddenly, Jesus finds you. I mean, it is as if he had been searching for you!
You were spending time with your family, you were at work, you were on a journey when suddenly Jesus calls out to you saying, “Follow me.” It is both an invitation as well as a challenge! It is both lovely and frightening all at the same time.
That may have been the way it was for Philip. Eusebius says that Philip had a wife and several daughters. Yet, when he heard the Lord’s challenge to follow, he did. What about you, do you have the courage to follow Jesus?
