In John 3:13 we read Jesus’ words to Nicodemus saying, “No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.”
What is Jesus trying to communicate to Nicodemus? Could it not be that Jesus is clearly stating to Nicodemus (who is Israel’s teacher) that the Christ is the greatest and most qualified teacher of all in that he and he alone is from heaven and has come to instruct both Israel and the rest of the nations in regard to what God desires from his creation.
That it is Jesus who has seen heaven and it is Jesus who is a witness to, for and from heaven and that it is his teaching and testimony that must be received in order for men to gain entrance into the kingdom of heaven. Jesus’ teaching and testimony must not only be understood, but must be obeyed in order for them to have eternal life.
