What are the things that you have delighted in at different times in your life? As the years have come and gone, have the things you have taken delight in changed from time to time? Things that at one time captured your attention are now but faded memories. Things that at one time enamored, have lost their charm and beauty. Maybe it was even a person who you were enamored with, or maybe someone had been enamored with you.
Time has a way of effecting change in our lives in this way. But God does not change; he always loves you, no matter what. When we choose to follow him, he always takes delight in us. Might we always take delight in him.
Hear his words saying, “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17, NIV).
