[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyAPV1bj-C0]Who are you lifting up? Are you honest with yourself about the sin in your own life? Do you present the image that you are better than others; the image that you do not have any sin? In 1 John 1:8 we read, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Isn’t interesting, that the very moment we put forth the image that we have it all together, is the very moment we fall the furthest? In John 3:14-15 we read that “the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” If you find in your life that you are busy going around protecting and promoting your image as one who has no sin; you may need to know that it is then impossible for you to truly promote Jesus as your Savior. Rather than constantly lifting up your image, lift up the image of Christ that both you and your friends might be saved.
