Nicodemus A Teacher Who Lacked Understanding Part Three (20110112)

In John 3:11 we read Jesus’ words, “I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.

A fundamental difference rises between the two teachers, one being Nicodemus and the other Jesus.

Nicodemus teaches from what he knows intellectually, but Jesus teaches from what he knows intellectually, spiritually and experientially in fellowship with God.  Jesus goes through his life with his apostles as if they were on a journey together.  So when Jesus and his disciples teach the word of God, they can do it from the point of view that inspires others because they have lived the word of God and thus have come to intimately know the word of God and its blessings in their lives.  Jesus’ teaching is far more than intellectual gymnastics, it is the life that shares fellowship with God.

Nicodemus teaches what he knows about God.  Jesus teaches about the God he knows.
