Jesus On Being Born Again, Part Two (20101209)

In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”  4  “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!”  5  Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.”  (John 3:3-5, NIV)

Here we have Jesus and Nicodemus carrying on a discussion about what it means to be “born again” and “seeing the kingdom of God.”  Nicodemus realizes that Jesus cannot be asking a man to be born again from his mother’s womb.  And if that holds true then what must it mean for a man or a woman to be born again?  Jesus informs Nicodemus that to be “born again” one must be “born of water and the Spirit.”

Let me ask you friend, “Do you want to see the kingdom of God?”  Do you want to be “born of water and the Spirit?”  Then, tune in next time as we learn more of what it means to be born again from Jesus and the word of God.

Living Big In Jesus,
