Cast All Your Anxiety On Him — He Cares For You

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7, NIV)

You have labored to exhaustion, you tried your best, and yet you don’t have the necessary stamina, endurance and other resources to meet the demands of the situation you face today.  What do you do now?  Where do you go when there is no one or nothing to turn to for help?

The psalmist reminds us of the truth saying, “My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:2, NIV).  Surely our situation may feel overwhelming, and most assuredly at times it truly is more than we can handle on our own.  And so we turn to the Lord, we cast all, not some, not part, but all our anxieties upon him who cares for us.  For he is our Creator, Sovereign and Savior.  We, who abide in Lord are not our own, we are his and he is ours, and he cares for those who belong to him.

How are you feeling today concerning the challenges life has laid before you?  Have you considered all your resources?  Have you given it your best effort?  Is there a part left undone that is beyond your strength, beyond your wisdom, beyond your resources?  Cast all your anxiety upon Christ, pour out your tears, and share the pains of your heart with him.  And he will bring upon you his peace, his comfort and with his time and your patience – release.

Ah! The precious promises of God to the children who love him and are called according to his purposes.  Might we take our rest in him today?  Might we find sweet rest in the promise of his voice in the midst of our busy world?

Resting in Christ,

Keith
