It is true, a man’s actions do hold a powerful sway over his life. When a man does something good he does not mind if others are aware of his deed. But, if his actions are less than noble, if they are harmful to himself or those around him, he will tend to want to keep those things hidden. Such men would rather deny the evil they have done rather than to confess it and be healed. Such men are in danger of trying to save their face, all the while destroying their soul.
Jesus said it this way in John 3:19-21, “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”
