“From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.” (John 1:16, NIV).
But what are some of the blessings that we have received from Christ?
One that I can easily think of is forgiveness! Jesus came and preached that we should forgive one another. None of us is perfect, and so we occasionally sin against one another. Often times after having done so we sadly wish that we had not been so selfish. We wish our behavior and our attitude had been different. We wish that our relationship that now stands broken could be restored in order that we might be able to reclaim our lost friendship.
The wisdom of the world tells us something different, it says, “Don’t get mad, get even!” But many of us have found this counsel to leave us hurt and lonely.
Jesus’ blessing of forgiveness allows us to move beyond the offense, hurt and pain and into a life of forgiveness, grace and love and to do so with a friend. Thank you Jesus for your grace and blessings.
