You may remember we have been talking about Jesus’ words in John 3:3, 5. Jesus said, “I tell you the truth no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.”
We have already seen what it meant to be born of water as one comes forth up out of water following baptism. What a marvelous plan the Lord has in that at the very same time one is born of water, one is born of the Spirit. We can easily see this as we consider Paul’s words in 1 Cor. 12:13 saying, “For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body…” We might simply say that the active agent in baptism is not the preacher or some other person; rather it is the very Spirit of God who baptizes people into the kingdom of God. And that is what Jesus was saying in John 3:5.
Would you my friend consider being born of water and the Spirit in order that you might enter the Kingdom of God?
