God At Work!
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28, NIV)
Humility! That is what it takes, a little bit of humility and it may go a long way for me. Trouble is I simply trust myself just a little bit too much; I am just a little sure of myself. I want to think that I can make everything work out for good; not just for me, but everyone that I love, share my life with and minister to throughout the week.
If I am honest with myself and a few close friends in Christ, I must admit that I struggle and fail more often than I would like. I mean, I do try, I really do, but I still fail. I want what is right, I try to do what is right, but I just can’t get it down perfect. And so, I fall short of the glory of God.
Most of us have been there. Sometimes we believe that we will never find any redeeming factor in our the present situation. Even if we try our hardest, it simply is not enough. Maybe we need to stop listening to ourselves so much; maybe we should start listening to God.
The Apostle Paul reminds us of God’s promises to us who are faithfully grounded in a right relationship with Jesus Christ. Listen to what the promise of God is for us who believe: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This means that even though life can be very tough, even to the point that we feel that we will break; God can put back together broken people. God can redeem any situation, and any person or people if they love him, serve him and trust in his promise.
Trust him today to fulfill his part of the agreement. Our part is to love him first above all else and serve him and those around us according to his good pleasure. And know this, he will work it out for our good.
Loving, serving and trusting Him,
