Many years ago a good friend of mine who was not a Christian came to worship. I remember his comment to me as we walked up the sidewalk to the church building. He said he hoped the church building would not fall down on him as he entered. I assured him that it would not. I certainly hoped not as I was entering in right by his side!
I have always thought it strange how so many of us miss Jesus’ point. Jesus did not come to this world because we were righteous. He came because we were just the opposite. Jesus came because we were unrighteous. Listen to Jesus’ words in John 3:17, NIV, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” God has not been asking you to be good enough. He is trying to get you to understand that Jesus is!
