Seeing The One Who Sees Us (20101112)

“When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false.”

48  “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked.

Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.”

49  Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.”

50  Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that.”  (John 1:47-50, NIV)

How blessed we are to have a Lord that sees us before he has even called us!  Jesus, our Creator, Sustainer and Savior has known us before we have known ourselves.  He has seen us, and known us, before we ever knew we needed to see him.  He has looked forward to meeting us face to face before we have even called out his name.   Might we with Nathanael cry out, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.”  You are Jesus!
